There are lots of printers out there with super low price tags but more often than not the purchase price bares no relation to the running costs. The Epson SX115 is the same, it super cheap to buy but a set full set of Epson SX115 ink cartridges will cost the same as the price itself. All it not lost however because there are compatible Epson ink cartridges available for the SX115 which cost up to 50% less than the genuine Epson printer ink cartridges and help make the SX115 a good value prospect. The SX115 offer a good array of functions some of which is performs better than others. Printing speed is probable the SX115’s weakest point, Epson claim its capable of 34 ppm but this is a ridiculous claim and in the real world the best it can manage is 4ppm if you want half-decent quality print. Even though the SX115 is a budget printer the quality of print is very good from printing plain text documents to high resolution artwork or photos. The scanning facility is adequate, and colour scans have a good true reproduction. Copying can be performed with the need for a PC as can printing from a memory card, digital camera or camera phone via the built in card reader and PictBridge USB connections. The SX115 is an extremely easy to use device from initial setup to changing the printer cartridges and it feels as although it has been well screwed together and shouldn’t fall apart under normal everyday use.
